21st Century Fund

                                                         February, 2010

Dear Friends:

This letter brings an invitation for you and your religious education colleagues to conceive of an innovative project or service that serves all Unitarian Universalist religious educators, and to make a grant application to LREDA’s Twenty First Century Fund.

By vote of the LREDA membership “The purpose of the Endowment Fund shall be to support the mission of LREDA in serving all Unitarian Universalist religious educators through innovative and supportive programs and services which augment those which are made possible by the dues of the members.”  Such programs could include but are not limited to projects that make innovative programs available to all religious educators, new services, publications, electronic networks and trainings.

We hope that even modest grants will provide the seed money for programs and services that enhance professional development of all religious educators.  This year, the fund will have approximately $5,000 for all our grants.  The application deadline is December 31, 2010. The fund encourages grant applications for projects that uniquely assist all religious educators and can not avail themselves of other funding sources.

Please be advised that in making grants, the 21st Century Fund Committee will be mindful of the following statement in the LREDA BY-laws:

“LREDA is an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, multicultural welcoming organization that supports and advocates for religious educators of every age, race/ethnicity, class, gender, gender identity, physical ability and sexual orientation.”

Sincerely,

Jude Henzy, Chair, Twenty First Century Committee,
