General Assembly LREDA Professional Day Keynote Speaker will be Rev. Mark Morrison-Reed. Professional Day is Wednesday, June 25, at the Omni Hotel in Providence.
Rev. Morrison-Reed will also be presenting our Fahs Lecture, Thursday, June 26, 10:15-11:30 a.m., RICC Hall D. The Fahs Lecture will explore: "What did UUs teach children during the 1940s - 50s that led them to join the civil rights movement in the 60s?" Weaving together a review of UUA curricula regarding race, the influence of Fahs and stories of early African-American religious educators, Morrison-Reed will draw lessons for today.
The LREDA Integrity Team will also present a workshop at GA: "Knowing Ourselves Helps Us Reach Out In Love." Learn how identity work helps us understand ourselves so that we are better able to reach out to others while working to build Beloved Community. Exercises and resources will be shared with participants that can be taken home and used in your congregation to help continue this important work. Presenters: Rev.
